Events
Our major fund raising event is our Charity Golf Day and on July 24th 2007 we raised £12,200 for The Alzheimer’s Research Trust. Anyone wishing to enter a team for this year’s event on July 22nd 2008 at Batchworth Park Golf Club should contact Tom Marsh on 01895 672743 or Terry Ruby on 0208 868 1974, e mail triruby@aol.com The beneficial charity will be Diabetes UK Children’s Holidays. The club has a house to house Christmas collection taking Father Xmas round the streets in his illuminated house to meet the children. The proceeds from this amounting to over £5,200 in 2007 will go to Harlington Hospice, Michael Sobell House and other local Rotary charities.

Youth
We organise the Hillingdon area heat of ’Youth Speaks’, a public speaking competition for schools. Swakeleys School and St Helens qualified for the District final on February 28th 2008 at Wycombe Abbey. A young poets competition with the topic "Spring" has been judged and the prizes will be presented at the Uxbridge Library on 14th June. Contact John Greening on 01923 829657 for information on all youth initiatives. The club assists local schools with mock interviews for school leavers and we assist local schools on a regular basis with reading.
